Client

Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools (MACS) is the governing body for Catholic education across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Supporting almost 300 schools and more than 118,000 students, MACS is committed to creating a world-class Catholic education system through evidence-based teaching, faith formation and strong school leadership.

Since 2025, we’ve partnered with MACS to develop its annual reports, helping communicate its achievements through compelling storytelling.

Challenge

In 2026, as MACS continued to deliver its ambitious 2030 strategy, it needed an annual report that reflected the scale of its progress and the impact of its work.

With a busy communications team balancing competing priorities, it needed an experienced editorial partner to deliver a compelling publication without adding to the team’s workload.

The report also needed to move beyond traditional reporting. It had to translate complex strategic initiatives into clear, engaging stories that resonated with a broad audience of staff, partners, educators and families.

Solution

We partnered with MACS and its creative agency to create an annual report that balanced strategic reporting with authentic storytelling.

Together, we developed an editorial approach that brought the organisation’s vision to life, making the report easier to navigate while reinforcing the key themes of MACS 2030.

Across the project, we:

  • Developed the narrative framework: We created a structure that provided a narrative thread across a publication of more than 100 pages.
  • Translated strategy into stories: We turned complex strategic initiatives into warm, engaging content, connecting priorities with the people and schools involved.
  • Unified diverse content through a consistent voice: We ensured each piece reflected the tone and style best suited to its purpose – while remaining unmistakably MACS.
  • Created a cohesive publication: We brought every story, section and message together under one clear narrative of purpose and impact, helping readers see how MACS is shaping Catholic education across Melbourne.
